“They said I flatlined for 6 minutes.” That’s the sound of Billy McBride coming back for one last case in Goliath – and a new trailer gives us a proper look at the show’s fourth and final season.
The legal drama stars Billy Bob Thornton as the washed-up-lawyer-on-a-comeback. Created by David E Kelley (Ally McBeal) and Jonathan Shapiro (The Practice), the series’ closing chapter will once again see Thornton joined by regulars Nina Arianda, Tania Raymonde, Diana Hopper, Ana de la Reguera and Julie Brister.
It will see Billy return to his Big Law roots after Patty (Nina Arianda) takes a job at a prestigious white-shoe law firm in San Francisco. Together, they try to take down one of America’s most insidious Goliaths: the opioid industry. As Billy deals with his own chronic pain and Patty can’t shake the feeling she’s being used, their loyalties will be tested, putting their partnership on the line. In a world where money can buy anything, even justice, they’ll have to risk everything to do what’s right.
Season 4 premieres on Amazon Prime Video on 24th September. Here’s the trailer:
Goliath is available to watch online on Amazon Prime Video as part of a Prime membership or a £5.99 monthly subscription.

Amazon renews Goliath for fourth and final season
16th November 2019
Amazon has renewed Goliath for a fourth and final season.
Created by David E. Kelley (Ally McBeal) and Jonathan Shapiro (The Practice), the legal drama was the first Amazon original to get a straight-to-series order and stars Billy Bob Thornton as washed-up lawyer Billy McBride. Thornton won the 2017 Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama Series for the thriller, which became the most-binged first season of an Amazon original series in its first 10 days.
Since then, despite some showrunner changes and creative differences, the series has continued to be a winner for Amazon, ordering a second and third run in quick succession.
Season 3 saw Thornton joined by some high-profile guest stars, including Dennis Quaid, Amy Brenneman, Griffin Dunne and Beau Bridges. It saw Billy investigate the unexpected death of an old friend in the drought-stricken Central Valley.
“An entertaining run that has a renewed sense of focus, without losing its dependable procedural appeal,” we wrote in our review of Season 3.
Now, a month after that season’s debut, Amazon has announced that Billy McBride will return for one last case, with regulars Nina Arianda, Tania Raymonde, Diana Hopper, Ana de la Reguera and Julie Brister likely to reprise their roles. The show continues to be exec-produced by Lawrence Trilling (Parenthood), Geyer Kosinski (Fargo), Jennifer Ames and Steve Turner (Boardwalk Empire).
“Goliath has been one of our most popular shows ever on Prime Video, and we’re so thankful to Billy Bob, Larry, Geyer, Jennifer, Steve, and the entire Goliath team for bringing this series to life,” Vernon Sanders, Co-Head of Television, Amazon Studios, said in a statement. “We’re happy that our customers around the world will have a chance to see Billy McBride bring this final chapter to a close on Prime Video next year.”
Trilling added: “I’m thrilled we get another season to tell Billy McBride’s story. Our latest case tackles a timely global crisis that impacts an entire generation, and we will be adding some exceptional talent to our already amazing cast. I’m so grateful to everyone at Amazon for their support of the show. Jennifer, Steve and Geyer have been dream partners, Billy Bob is a constant inspiration, and I’ve been blessed to work with a stellar cast and crew.”
