Trailer: Upload arrives on Amazon Prime Video this May

Upload, the new series from The Office and Parks and Recreation’s Greg Daniels, is coming to Amazon Prime Video this May – and a new trailer gives us our first look.
The sci-fi comedy is set in a technologically advanced future where hologram phones, 3D food printers and automated grocery stores are the norm. Most uniquely, humans can choose to be “uploaded” into a virtual afterlife when they find themselves near-death.
The series follows a young app developer, Nathan Brown (Robbie Amell), who winds up in the hospital following a self-driving car accident, needing to quickly decide his fate. After a rushed deliberation with his shallow girlfriend Ingrid (Allegra Edwards), he chooses to be uploaded to her family’s luxurious virtual afterlife, the Horizen company’s “Lakeview.” Once uploaded in Lakeview, Nathan meets his customer service “Angel” Nora Anthony (Andy Allo), who at first is his charismatic concierge and guide, but quickly becomes his friend and confidante, helping him navigate this new digital extension of life.
All 10 episodes arrive on Amazon on 1st May. Here’s the video:
Amazon orders Upload from The Office’s Greg Daniels
1st August 2018
Amazon has given the official nod to Upload, a new comedy from The Office’s Greg Daniels.
The sci-fi romantic satire is created by the Emmy winning man behind Parks and Recreation and King of the Hill and produced by longtime producing partner Howard Klein.
The project began as a pilot at Amazon Studios, even though Amazon has now moved away from its pilot-based approach to original series, which released them publicly for viewers to offer feedback. Indeed, Amazon passed on all of the pilots in its latest batch last year, including Sea Oak, starring Glenn Close as a zombie, Love You More, from Patti Cake$’ Bridget Everett and Sex and the City‘s Michael Patrick King, and Diarra Kilpatrick’s The Climb.
Upload is just one of two older pilots that were awaiting a decision last year, alongside Making Friends, from How I Met Your Mother creators Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. This weekend, though, Amazon announced at its TCA press tour event that Upload has been given the green light. The series will star Andy Allo (Pitch Perfect 3) and Robbie Amell (The X-Files), with an order issued for 10 episodes.
