Sky is bringing back one of its biggest – and hardest – hitters this month, with the return of Gangs of London. It’s joined by a fourth chapter of The Righteous Gemstones, a Douglas Adams documentary and a series of National Theatre recordings, as well as weekly episodes of The White Lotus. You can also stream all of the above live and on-demand through NOW, Sky’s contract-free VOD service, which costs £9.99 a month for an Entertainment Membership.
Sky Cinema’s line-up, meanwhile, includes Blood for Dust, MaXXXine and Harold and the Purple Crayon. National Theatre Live: Frankenstein (Sky Arts, 9pm) – 4th March
Sky Arts presents director Danny Boyle’s 2011 stage adaptation of Mary Shelley’s classic chiller. Directed by Boyle, audiences witnessed Jonny Lee Miller and Benedict Cumberbatch trade roles on different nights, alternating between Victor Frankenstein and his horrific creation. With both performances showing on Sky Arts over two weeks, Jonny Lee Miller takes on the role of the monster this time around, with Naomie Harris also starring as Frankenstein’s betrothed, Elizabeth. Childlike in his innocence but grotesque in form, Frankenstein’s bewildered creature is cast out into a hostile universe by his horror-struck maker. Meeting with cruelty wherever he goes, the increasingly desperate and vengeful Creature determines to track down his creator and strike a terrifying deal.
Rob Beckett’s Smart TV: Season 2 (Sky Max, 9pm) – 5th March
Rob Beckett is back hosting more ferocious quizzing all about the magic of television in the second series of the all-star panel show. Each week, host Rob and team captains Alison Hammond and Josh Widdicombe will be joined by actors, comics, presenters and personalities, competing across a series of funny and chaotic rounds to see who knows the most about TV. Episodes arrive weekly.
The Righteous Gemstones: Season 4 (Sky Comedy, 9pm) – 12th March
From Danny McBride (Vice Principals, Eastbound & Down), this critically acclaimed comedy follows a world-famous televangelist family with a long tradition of deviance, greed, and charitable work. Despite constant bickering, Gemstone family ties run deep. In the fourth and final season, the family’s codependence is tested as they attempt to move forward without letting go of their storied past. Episodes arrive weekly.

Gangs of London: Season 3 (Sky Atlantic, 9pm) – 20th March
As chaos erupts in London after a spiked shipment of cocaine kills hundreds, fan- favourite characters collide with new faces bound by blood ties, sparking brutal power struggles, unexpected alliances, and fierce rivalries. Former undercover cop turned gangster Elliot navigates his new role as a top-level criminal alongside the Dumanis, but the spiking throws their operations into disarray. The Wallaces, Luan, Lale, and the street gangs face devastating consequences as personal vendettas collide with professional power struggles bleeding into violent turf wars. The Girl on the Milk Carton (Sky Crime, 9pm) – 23rd March
Five days before Christmas 1984, 12-year-old Jonelle Matthews went missing from her own living room in the small town of Greeley, Colorado. In an attempt to find her, Jonelle was given the tragic distinction as one of the first missing children whose face appeared on a milk carton. Sadly, the publicity did not bring her home. Nearly 35 years after her disappearance, her remains were found more than 20 miles away from her home. In a bizarre twist, a true-crime fanatic and gubernatorial candidate, obsessed with Jonelle’s disappearance for three decades became the main suspect. Master manipulator and aspiring politician Steve Pankey had inserted himself into this case by volunteering details about Jonelle’s murder, but only in exchange for a deal. Pankey’s ex-wife, a key witness in the case against him, bravely comes forward to exclusively share her experience of living with a deluded fantasist and sadistic murderer, and reveals the crucial evidence that led to his prosecution. Both parts arrive together on-demand.

Douglas Adams: The Man Who Imagined Our Future (Sky Arts, 8pm) – 27th March
Author of ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’, polymath Douglas Adams was a pioneer of science fiction, comedy, technology, and environmental activism. Campaigning for endangered species and the coming storm of climate change he was years ahead of his time.His philosophy and the ideas he had were meaningful, and visionary.We enter the mind and universe of Douglas Adams, and the world he imagined. Featuring interviews with family and friends including Stephen Fry, Griff Rhys Jones, Mary Allen, Jon Canter and John Lloyd.

In 1980s Hollywood, adult film star and aspiring actress Maxine Minx finally gets her big break. However, as a mysterious killer stalks the starlets of Los Angeles, a trail of blood threatens to reveal her sinister past. Black Dog – 2nd March
On the edge of the Gobi Desert in Northwest China, Lang returns to his hometown after being released from jail. While working for the local dog patrol team to clear the town of stray dogs before the Olympic Games, he strikes up an unlikely connection with a black dog. These two lonely souls now embark on a new journey together.
Harold and the Purple Crayon – 7th March
Inside of his book, adventurous Harold (Zachary Levi) can make anything come to life simply by drawing it. After he grows up and draws himself off the book’s pages and into the physical world, Harold finds he has a lot to learn about real life – and that his trusty purple crayon may set off more hilarious hijinks than he thought possible. When the power of unlimited imagination falls into the wrong hands, it will take all of Harold and his friends’ creativity to save both the real world and his own. Harold and the Purple Crayon is the first film adaptation of the beloved children’s classic that has captivated young readers for decades.
Blood for Dust – 8th March
A travelling salesman, drowning in the pressure of providing for his family, is drawn into a world of crime by his mysterious coworker. Scoot McNairy stars.
The Good Half – 9th March
Returning home for his mother’s funeral, Nick Jonas forges new relationships and heals old ones as he faces his grief. Drama with David Arquette.
Horizon: An American Saga – 14th March
Families, friends and foes discover the lure of the Old West as the Civil War divides the country. Kevin Costner and Sienna Miller star.
AfrAId – 15th March
Curtis (John Cho) and his family are selected to test a revolutionary new home device: a digital family assistant called AIA. Taking smart home to the next level, once the unit and all its sensors and cameras are installed in their home, AIA seems able to do it all. She learns the family’s behaviours and begins to anticipate their needs. And she can make sure nothing – and no one – gets in her family’s way.
Skincare – 16th March
Famed aesthetician Hope Goldman (Elizabeth Banks) is about to take her career to the next level by launching her very own skincare line, but her personal and work lives are challenged when rival facialist Angel Vergara opens a new skincare boutique directly across from her store. She starts to suspect that someone is trying to sabotage her reputation and business, and together with her friend Jordan she embarks on a mission to unravel the mystery of who is trying to destroy her life.
It Ends with Us – 21st March
It Ends with Us, the first Colleen Hoover novel adapted for the big screen, tells the story of Lily Bloom, a woman who overcomes a traumatic childhood to embark on a new life in Boston and chase a lifelong dream of opening her own business. A chance meeting with charming neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid sparks an intense connection, but as the two fall deeply in love, Lily begins to see sides of Ryle that remind her of her parents’ relationship. The Wasp – 22nd March
Adapted by Morgan Lloyd Malcom from her acclaimed play of the same name, The Wasp is a sharp, twisty tale about two estranged childhood friends, Heather (Naomie Harris) and Carla (Natalie Dormer), who reunite for a cup of tea after not having spoken in many years. At their meeting, Heather presents a very unexpected proposition that will change their lives forever.
Noah’s Ark – 23rd March
The flood that will destroy all life is approaching and the pairs of animals that will be rescued are getting on Noah’s Ark. However, two mice of the same gender devise a plan to find themselves among the lucky passengers. Once on board, they must use their musical talents to enter a competition and help maintain peace among the animals.
Sneaks – 28th March
From the writer and creator of The Princess and The Frog and Treasure Planet comes a new animation stomping onto the scene, Sneaks. Sneaks follows the story of Ty – a designer trainer who lives a life of luxury and comfort, complete with living in a velvet-lined box. However, when a shady shoe collector steals his sister, Ty, is forced to venture out into the world, and onto the streets of New York, to rescue her. As Ty teams up with shoes from all walks of life – and all five of New York’s boroughs – he discovers adventure and the joys of life outside of the (shoe) box… and even finds a sole-mate in the process. Mixing original hip-hop and rap music and featuring the vocal talents of Keith David, Laurence Fishburne, Anthony Mackie, Martin Lawrence and more, Sneaks is a family- friendly love letter to American sneaker culture and the varied cultures that fill the Big Apple.
Babes – 29th March
Two friends – one single and the other already a mother – face new challenges after the former gets pregnant from a one-night stand. Comedy starring Ilana Glazer and Michelle Buteau.
I’ll Be Right There – 30th March
A woman navigates the challenges of her pregnant daughter’s wedding plans, her mother’s health concerns and her own romantic dilemmas. Comedy.
