It’s a month of summer getaways for Sky and NOW in July, with new US drama The Five Star Weekend, new Italian prequel Gomorrah: The Origins and Swedish series Faithless. Al Murray: All You Need Is Guv (Sky One, 9pm) – 3rd July

There’s no denying the world’s a mess, but there is a glimmer of hope as the globe’s favourite Pub Landlord returns with his like-nobody-else Common Sense hot-takes for the masses, offering a much-needed truth tonic (pint for the fella/glass of white wine for the lady) for these whacked out and troubled times. With a fresh and frothing pint to hand, a barrel of laughs to pour from, and a flower in his heart, Guv is all you need.

Faithless (Sky Atlantic, 9pm) – 7th July

An acclaimed director reunites with his former lover, confronting the aftermath of their secret affair. Decades earlier, they fell in love while she was married to his best friend. A six-part Swedish drama directed by Tomas Alfredson, with episodes arriving in pairs weekly.

Katie Price: Nothing to Hide: Season 1 (Sky One, 9pm) – 8th July

A Sky Original four-part series from Louis Theroux’s BAFTA-winning Mindhouse (Louis Theroux: Inside the Manosphere, Lockerbie) and BAFTA and International Emmy-winning director, Paddy Wivell, brings a documentary lens to Katie’s story, combining extraordinary unseen footage with first-time testimony to deliver a revealing portrait of one of Britain’s most enduring celebrity figures. All episodes arrive at once on-demand.

Animal Control: Season 1 to 4 (Sky One, 6pm) – 11th July

Recently renewed for a fifth season in the US, the hit workplace comedy makes its big debut on Sky, with seasons 3 and 4 airing for the first time on these shores. A group of local animal control workers’ lives are complicated by the fact that animals are simple, but humans are not. Leading the crew is Frank (Joe McHale, Community), an opinionated, eccentric animal control officer who may not have gone to college but is still the most well-read person in the room. In his past life as a cop, Frank tried to expose corruption in his department, but his efforts got him fired, leaving him cynical and curmudgeonly. Despite his rough exterior, he is blessed with an almost superhuman ability to understand animals. All episodes arrive at once on-demand.

The Five Star Weekend (Sky Atlantic, 9pm) – 16th July

Hollis Shaw (Jennifer Garner), a famed cook and best-selling author known for her delicious recipes, impeccable taste and warm demeanor, suffers a devastating loss. Unable to move forward, the death starts to expose the cracks in Hollis’ picture- perfect life – her strained marriage, her complicated relationship with her daughter and her growing pursuit of validation from her fans. In an effort to overcome grief and find herself again, Hollis gets the idea to host a weekend away at her house on Nantucket with three friends from different stages in her life: her childhood, her twenties, thirties and one surprise fifth star. Set against a luxurious and coastal backdrop, the stars will mature in ways they could never imagine as boundaries are pushed and secrets are exposed. CIA (Sky Witness, 9pm) – 23rd July

rom Dick Wolf and the team behind FBI, a rule-breaking CIA case officer (Tom Ellis), and a by-the-book, smart FBI agent (Nick Gehlfuss) are assigned to work out of the CIA’s New York Station. Together, they work covert operations, uncovering international plots, terrorist cells, and geopolitical secrets, finding that their differences may actually be their strength. Station Eleven (Sky Atlantic, 9pm) – 24th July

The acclaimed Emmy-nominated sci-fi drama that premiered on STARZPLAY, starring Mackenzie Davis and Himesh Patel, makes its UK premiere on Sky Atlantic and NOW. Based on the bestselling novel, this post-apocalyptic saga follows the survivors of a devastating flu as they attempt to rebuild and reimagine the world anew – while holding on to the best of what’s been lost. The Idaho Murders: Season 1 (Sky Documentaries, 9pm) – 26th July

In the early hours of November 13, 2022, four University of Idaho students ; Ethan Chapin, Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves and Xana Kernodle were brutally stabbed to death inside their off-campus home in the quiet college town of Moscow, Idaho. Set in 1977 Naples, this new chapter of Gomorrah is an origin story tracing the criminal education of a very young Pietro Savastano. Lee Cronin’s The Mummy – 4th July

Lee Cronin, the director of Evil Dead Rise, brings us his take on the classic horror staple, stamped with his personal brand of gory mishief. After their daughter disappears without a on a trip to Egypt eight years prior, a family is shocked when she returns to them, seemingly unharmed. However, their tears of joy soon turn into screams of terror when their long-lost daughter turns into something… not human.

Bugonia – 5th July

Acclaimed director Yorgos Lanthimos (The Favourite) returns with a dark comedy that applies his unique storytelling to modern paranoia. Emma Stone plays a high-flying CEO who is kidnapped and held by two young, conspiracy minded men (Jesse Plemons and Aidan Delbis) who are convinced that she is a member of an alien race intent on destroying all human life on Earth.

Wicked: For Good – 10th July

With Elphaba now in exile and labelled “The Wicked Witch of the West” by The Wizard and Madam Morrible, she continues to fight for the freedom of Oz’s silenced animals. Meanwhile, Glinda is positioned as the perfect image for Goodness and is living in the luxury of the Emerald City. But fate brings these two former friends back together when a girl from Kansas crashes into their lives.

Redux Redux – 11th July

In an attempt to avenge her daughter’s death, Irene Kelly travels through parallel universes, killing her daughter’s murderer over and over again. She grows addicted to the revenge streak, putting her own humanity in jeopardy.

Anemone – 12th July

Anemone explores the complex and profound ties that exist between brothers, fathers, and sons.
Directorial debut of Ronan Day-Lewis, featuring the long-awaited return of Daniel Day- Lewis to film. Also starring Samantha Morton, Sean Bean and Samuel Bottomley.

Anaconda (2026) – 17th July

Jack Black and Paul Rudd star in this very meta “not a reboot” to the 1997 creature feature. Doug and Griff are best friends who have always dreamed of remaking their favourite movie from their childhood – the aforementioned Anaconda. Now middle-aged, they take the plunge and decide to head deep into the Amazon to get shooting. However, things get too real when a real giant anaconda slithers onto their set, unleashing chaos as the pair attempt to stay out of its coils and stomach.

In Cold Light – 18th July

Ava is trapped. Like a bull in a bucking chute, seconds before exploding onto the rodeo stage. She is hunted. Pursued by those who killed her brother, pursued by her own demons. Ava needs to make a choice. To either save herself and fight another day or to push and become the woman she wishes she could be. Thriller starring Maika Monroe, Troy Kotsure and Helen Hunt.

Night Patrol – 19th July

An LAPD officer must put aside his differences with the area’s street gangs when he discovers a local police task force is harboring a horrific secret that endangers the residents of the housing projects he grew up in. Starring Justin Long, Dermot Mulroney, Jermaine Fowler and CM Punk.

Mortal Kombat II – 24th July

This time, the fan favorite champions—now joined by Johnny Cage himself—are pitted against one another in the ultimate, no-holds barred, gory battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn that threatens the very existence of the Earthrealm and its defenders. Karl Urban stars as Johnny Cage, alongside Adeline Rudolph, Jessica McNamee, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Mehcad Brooks, Tati Gabrielle, Lewis Tan, Damon Herriman, with Chin Han, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han, and Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion.

Lurker – 25th July

A screw-turning psychological thriller made for the moment, LURKER is the razor-sharp directorial debut from The Bear and Beef writer-producer Alex Russell. When twenty-something Los Angeles retail clerk and loner Matthew (Théodore Pellerin) encounters rising pop star Oliver (Saltburn’s Archie Madekwe), he takes the opportunity to edge his way into the in-crowd. Eleanor the Great – 26th July

In Eleanor The Great, June Squibb brings to vivid life the witty and proudly troublesome 94-year-old Eleanor Morgenstein, who after a devastating loss, tells a tale that takes on a dangerous life of its own. A group of friends’ tropical vacation turns into a terrifying, primal tale of horror and survival.
