Lockerbie: A Search for Truth (Sky Atlantic, 9pm) – 2nd January
On 21st December 1988, 259 passengers and crew were killed when Pan Am Flight 103 exploded over Lockerbie 38 minutes after take-off, with a further 11 residents losing their life as the plane came down over the quiet, Scottish town. In the wake of the disaster and his daughter Flora’s death, Dr Jim Swire (Firth), is nominated spokesperson for the UK victims’ families, who have united to demand truth and justice. Travelling across continents and political divides, Jim embarks on a relentless journey that not only jeopardises his stability, family and life, but completely overturns his trust in the justice system. As the truth shifts under Jim’s feet, his view of the world is left forever changed. Exploring events from the disaster and its aftermath, Lockerbie: A Search for Truth provides an intimate account of a man, a husband, and a father who risks everything in memory of his daughter and the unflinching pursuit of truth and justice. Dart Kings (Sky Documentaries, 9pm) – 4th January
Against a backdrop of rising unemployment and unrest in 1980s Britain, darts brought entertainment and energy to British audiences. Join us as we explore the incredible journeys of three of the greatest names in darts, charting their rise, rivalries, heartache, and triumphs through the ’70s, ‘80s and ’90s. Landscape Artist of the Year: Season 10 (Sky Arts, 8pm) – 22nd January
Returning for its tenth series, Landscape Artist of the Year is back on the hunt for the nation’s greatest artists, with a tour of some of Britain’s most stunning backdrops and significant structures on the cards. This series, our artists will be painting at iconic locations including Hampton Court, Snowdon, the Clifton Suspension Bridge and Stonehenge just to name a few, with the winning artist taking on a £10,000 commission based in the south of France to be displayed in The Courtauld Gallery in London. The Lost Music of Auschwitz (Sky Arts, 9pm) – 20th January
The Lost Music of Auschwitz tells the remarkable story of British composer Leo Geyer’s 8-year long mission to piece together a treasure-trove of forgotten fragments of music manuscripts found in the archives of the Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum.

FROM unravels the mystery of a nightmarish town that traps all those who enter. As the unwilling residents fight to keep a sense of normalcy and search for a way out, they must also survive the threats of the surrounding forest – including the terrifying creatures that come out when the sun goes down. In the wake of Season Two’s epic cliffhanger, escape will become a tantalizing and very real possibility as the true nature of the town comes into focus, and the townspeople go on offense against the myriad horrors surrounding them. The Real Manhunter: Season 4 (Sky Crime, 9pm) – 15th January
Former Detective Chief Inspector Colin Sutton spent 30 years in the police force, a career that saw him lead many of the highest profile and successful murder investigations of his generation, and although he’ll forever be associated with the arrest and conviction of serial killer Levi Bellfield and ‘Night Stalker’ Delroy Grant, his career was so much more. Returning for a fourth series, Sutton revisits cases he led and explores everything from the crime itself through to the breakthrough moment when the suspect was identified and arrested. He takes the viewer on a journey from the moment the police were called to the scene, visits key locations, and explains how he and his team managed to gather enough evidence to secure a conviction. And now, fresh off an almost career-ending accident, this working-class hero has to track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy and try to win back the love of his life while still doing his day job. What could possibly go right?
The Convert – 4th January
A lay preacher’s violent past is drawn into question and his faith tested as he becomes caught up in a bloody war between Maori tribes after arriving at a British settlement in the 1830s. Historical drama based on real events, starring Guy Pearce and directed by Lee Tamahori (Once Were Warriors).
The 4:30 Movie – 5th January
Writer-director Kevin Smith presents his most personal film to date with this coming-of-age story – set in the summer of 1986 – that follows three sixteen-year- old friends who spend their Saturdays sneaking into movies at the local cineplex. When one of the guys invites the girl of his dreams to see an R-rated film, all hilarity breaks loose, as a self-important theatre manager (Ken Jeong) and teen rivalries interfere with his best-laid plans.
Get Away – 10th January
The Smith family’s much-needed vacation to the remote Swedish island of Svalta takes a dark turn when they arrive during preparations for a mysterious local festival that celebrates a dark history. Unsettled by the unfriendly locals and strange rituals, they try to make the best of their trip, stubbornly enjoying the island’s isolation and natural beauty. However, as the festival looms closer, the family realizes something far more sinister is unfolding–especially when they discover that a serial killer is on the loose.
Slingshot – 11th January
A psychological thriller starring Casey Affleck and Laurence Fishburne, Slinsghot follows an elite trio of astronauts aboard a years-long, possibly compromised mission to Saturn’s moon Titan. As the team gears up for a highly dangerous slingshot manoeuvre that will either catapult them to Titan or into deep space, it becomes increasingly difficult for one astronaut to maintain his grip on reality.
Twilight of Warriors: Walled In – 12th January
Many years after the bloody turf war that ushered in an uneasy era of peace in Hong Kong’s underworld, the notorious Kowloon Walled City serves as a fortified, lawless safe haven for gangs and refugees alike. But when a skilled underground fighter runs afoul of the most feared Triad boss in Hong Kong, a bounty is placed on his head despite his connections to the leader of the infamous enclave. As his pursuers violate the tenuous territorial truce to exact their vengeance, the fallout reignites old grudges, bringing decades of building tension to a brutal, bloody boiling point.
Bad Boys: Ride or Die – 17th January
The world’s favourite Bad Boys are back with their iconic mix of edge-of-your seat action and outrageous comedy but this time with a twist: Miami’s finest are now on the run. When their late police captain gets linked to drug cartels, wisecracking Miami cops Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) embark on a dangerous mission to clear his name.
Kill – 18th January
Stalking for deer in the remote Scottish wilderness, three brothers plot to put an end to their violent and abusive father, the man responsible for the recent death of their mother. Burying Don in a shallow grave they make their way back home to their farmhouse. But what should be a new beginning could bring about their end… Starring Paul Higgins (Line of Duty), Brian Vernel (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Daniel Portman (Game of Thrones).
Parachute – 19th January
Riley, recently been released from rehab after struggling with addictions to food and body image, meets Ethan and finds herself struggling to navigate the line between love and a new addiction. Directorial debut from Brittany Snow (previously better known as Chloe from the Pitch Perfect series) and starring Courtney Eaton (Yellowjackets), Thomas Mann (Me, Earl and The Dying Girl) and Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin) with Joel McHale and Dave Bautista.
The Killer – 24th January
Legendary action director John Woo returns with a radical reimagining of his 1989 Hong Kong classic, The Killer. Nathalie Emmanuel (The Fast Saga, Game of Thrones) plays Zee, a mysterious and infamous assassin known, and feared, in the Parisian underworld as the Queen of the Dead. But when, during an assignment from her shadowy mentor and handler (Avatar’s Sam Worthington), Zee refuses to kill a blinded young woman in a Paris nightclub, the decision will disintegrate Zee’s alliances, attract the attention of a savvy police investigator and plunge her into a sinister criminal conspiracy that will set her on a collision course with her own past.
Timestalker – 25th January
Timestalker follows hapless heroine Agnes (director Alice Lowe, Prevenge) through time as she repeatedly falls for the wrong guy, dies a grim death, gets reincarnated a century later, before meeting him again and starting the cycle anew. It is one story told over many periods, all with the messy thrills and spills that come with daring to follow your heart. Or maybe your loins… Agnes’ only hope in avoiding this violent fate is by finally reaching spiritual enlightenment; but how can she ever wise up when she’s destined to be a fool for love? Some lessons are just too hard to learn in one lifetime.
The Last Stop in Yuma County- 26th January
While stranded at a rural Arizona rest stop, a traveling salesman is thrust into a dire hostage situation by the arrival of two bank robbers with no qualms about using cruelty—or cold, hard steel—to protect their bloodstained fortune.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga – 31st January
As the world fell, young Furiosa (Anya Taylor-Joy) is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus (Chris Hemsworth). Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home.
