What’s coming soon to Netflix UK in July 2021?

With summer upon her, Netflix is still finding reasons for us to stay indoors. That includes a promising horror line-up – from trilogy Fear Street and a Resident Evil animated series to Midsommar and a special episode of Kingdom – and family offerings such as Dora and the Lost City of Gold and the finale of Trollhunters. Plus there’s the return of Netflix series Never Have I Ever, Atypical and Sky Rojo, and the arrival of an all-new Masters of the Universe.
Here’s what’s coming soon to Netflix UK in July 2021:
Akira – 1st July
In this seminal animated film based on the manga series, two childhood friends are pulled into the underworld of Neo-Tokyo and forced to fight for survival
The Serpent: Season 1 – 1st July
Inspired by real events, The Serpent tells the remarkable story of how the conman and murderer Charles Sobhraj (Tahar Rahim) was brought to justice. Posing as a gem dealer, Sobhraj and his girlfriend Marie-Andrée Leclerc (Jenna Coleman) travelled across Thailand, Nepal and India in 1975 and 1976, carrying out a spree of crimes on the Asian ‘Hippie Trail’ and becoming the chief suspects in a series of murders of young Western travellers.
Big Timber: Season 1 – 2nd July
A no-nonsense logger and his loyal crew battle brutal elements and finicky machines to chop and transport valuable lumber on Vancouver Island.
Fear Street – 2nd July
Netflix’s horror trilogy spans three time periods – 1994, 1978 and 1666. It begins in 1994, when a group of teenagers discovers that the terrifying events that have haunted their town for generations may all be connected — and that they may be the next targets. Based on RL Stine’s best selling horror series, the trilogy follows the nightmare through Shadyside’s sinister history. Directed by Honeymoon helmer Leigh Janiak. Part 2 and 3 arrive on 9th and 16th July.

We the People: Season 1 – 4th July
Combining music and animation to educate a new generation of young Americans about the power of the people, We the People is a series of 10 animated music videos that covers a range of basic US civics in not-so-basic ways. Set to original songs performed by artists such as HER, Janelle Monáe, Brandi Carlile, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Adam Lambert, Cordae, Bebe Rexha, KYLE, Andra Day, and poet Amanda Gorman, with a groundbreaking mix of animated styles — each episode of We the People is an exuberant call to action for everyone to rethink civics as a living, breathing thing and to reframe their understanding of what government and citizenship mean in a modern world.

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness: Season 1 – 8th July
Based on the smash hit horror video game franchise, Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness is set in 2006, when there were traces of improper access to secret Presidential files found in the White House’s network. American federal agent Leon S Kennedy is among the group invited to the White House to investigate, but when the lights go out, Leon and the SWAT team are forced to take down a horde of zombies. Meanwhile, TerraSave staff member Claire Redfield encounters a mysterious image drawn by a youth in a country she visited, while providing support to refugees. Claire starts her own investigation and, during a visit to the White House to request the construction of a welfare facility, she has a chance reunion with Leon. And so the stage is set for two zombie outbreaks in distant countries that lead the USA to be shaken to its very core.
