What’s coming soon to Amazon Prime Video UK in October 2024?

Amazon is getting in the spooky spirit this October, with the return of The Devil’s Hour, plus the debut of Blumhouse baking contest Killer Cakes. But there are more thrills on offer beyond that, with the arrival of Challengers and Citadel: Diana, plus new the new Australian version of The Office. And there’s adventure in the form of new acquisition Nautilus, which Amazon snapped up after Disney+ dropped it.

House of Spoils – 3rd October
House of Spoils follows an ambitious chef (Ariana DeBose) as she opens a restaurant on a remote estate where she battles kitchen chaos, crushing self doubts… and a haunting presence who threatens to sabotage her at every turn.
The Legend of Vox Machina: Season 3 – 3rd October
Everything is at stake in the long-awaited Season Three of The Legend of Vox Machina. The Chroma Conclave’s path of destruction spreads like wildfire while the Cinder King hunts down Vox Machina. Our lovable band of misfits must rise above inner (and outer) demons to try and save their loved ones, Tal’Dorei, and all of Exandria. The 12 episodes arrive weekly in groups of three.
Spice Up Our Love: Season 1 – 3rd October
In No Gain No Love, Nam Ja-yeon encounters Bok Gyu-hyun (Lee Sang-yi) when she presses charges against him for writing malicious comments on her web novel. However, in Spice Up Our Love, Nam Ja-yeon ends up turning herself as her web novel’s main character, Seo Yeon-seo, who is a nutritionist at a company called GB Electric while Bok Gyu-hyun transforms into her male lead character, Kang Ha-jun, the CEO of GB Electric. The story comically unfolds as Yeon-seo, who is trying to escape from her own web novel and return to reality, and Ha-jun, who is single-mindedly devoted to her, continues to pursue her love. All episodes arrive at once.
Challengers – 4th October
From visionary filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, Challengers stars Zendaya as Tashi Duncan, a former tennis prodigy turned coach and a force of nature who makes no apologies for her game on and off the court. Married to a champion on a losing streak (Mike Faist – West Side Story), Tashi’s strategy for her husband’s redemption takes a surprising turn when he must face off against the washed-up Patrick (Josh O’Connor – The Crown) – his former best friend and Tashi’s former boyfriend. As their pasts and presents collide, and tensions run high, Tashi must ask herself, what will it cost to win.
Killer Cakes: Season 1 – 8th October
This competition show sees bakers with terrifying skills attempt to win some of the most frightening challenges ever produced for television. Contestants will work with the best horror special effects artists in Hollywood to unleash their twisted imaginations and create cakes so disgusting, so disturbing, and so realistic, it’s the stuff of nightmares. All episodes arrive at once.
Knox Goes Away – 9th October
When a contract killer has a rapidly evolving form of dementia, he is offered an opportunity to redeem himself by saving the life of his estranged adult son.
Citadel: Diana: Season 1 – 10th October
Milan, 2030. Diana Cavalieri (Matilda De Angelis), an undercover Citadel agent, is alone, trapped behind enemy lines as a mole in Manticore. When she finally sees a way out and the chance to disappear forever, the only way to do so is trusting the most unexpected ally, Edo Zani (Lorenzo Cervasio), the heir of Manticore Italy and son of the head of the Italian organisation, Ettore Zani (Maurizio Lombardi), who’s vying for leadership against the other European families. Beyond Black Beauty – 15th October
Inspired by the iconic novel Black Beauty, Prime Video has released the trailer and key art for Beyond Black Beauty. The series follows young equestrian Jolie Dumont, whose Olympic dreams are dashed when her mother moves them from Belgium to her family’s urban ranch in Baltimore. An angry Jolie wants to escape until she bonds with a spirited horse named Black Beauty. Jolie will learn to embrace her heritage while continuing toward her Olympic-hopeful future and discover the value of family and home.
Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? Season 1 – 16th October
Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity? offers a fun, new twist on the premise of the original popular format. Hosted by Travis Kelce, each game will welcome an adult contestant who will rely on a classroom full of celebrities from comedy, screen, and sports to help them answer 11 questions on a range of subjects, pulled from elementary curriculum, in an effort to win a $100,000 prize. Rather than compete against the stars, contestants enlist their help and, in some cases, can even “cheat” off of them. And on the final question, worth $100,000, the contestant selects one celebrity to discuss the answer with before locking in. The final question is always at the 6th-grade level. Brothers – 17th October
A reformed criminal’s (Josh Brolin) attempt at going straight is derailed when he reunites with his sanity-testing twin brother (Peter Dinklage) on a cross-country road trip for the score of a lifetime. Dodging bullets, the law, and an overbearing mother along the way, they must heal their severed family bond before they end up killing each other.
The Office: Australia: Season 1 – 18th October
In The Office, Hannah Howard is the managing director of packaging company Flinley Craddick. When she gets news from Head Office that they will be shutting down her branch and making everyone work from home, she goes into survival mode, making promises she can’t keep in order to keep her “work family” together. The staff of Flinley Craddick indulge her and must endure Hannah’s outlandish plots as they work toward the impossible targets that have been set for them. All episodes arrive at once.
The Devil’s Hour: Season 2 – 18th October
Season 2 of this dark thriller pick up as Lucy (Jessica Raine) and Gideon (Peter Capaldi) form an uneasy alliance to prevent a recurring tragedy and hunt down an elusive monster. Lucy’s double life sees her torn between family and duty as she finds herself in the crosshairs of her husband, DI Ravi Dhillon (Nikesh Patel). Assisting Dhillon in his investigation is DS Sam Boyd (Saffron Hocking) who was mentored by DI Lucy Chambers. The Pasta Queen: Season 1 – 24th October
The series features Nadia Caterina Munno, descendant of an Italian pasta dynasty, who has racked up millions of followers on TikTok and Instagram. Each episode, audiences will travel through Italy with Nadia, then spend time in her chef’s kitchen as she shares essential ingredients from the Italian regions she visited, and makes authentic Italian dishes with love. Nautilus: Season 1 – 25th October
Nautilus tells the origin story of Captain Nemo: an Indian Prince robbed of his birthright and family, joining him as he steals a formidable prototype submarine and escapes into the Indian Ocean with a ragtag crew, determined to enact revenge against the ruthless East India Mercantile Company. All episodes arrive at once.
Like a Dragon: Yakuza: Season 1 – 25th October
Released in 2005 by SEGA, the ‘Yakuza’ game series was positioned as an entertaining game for adults, which found massive fanfare amongst its target audience. The series depicts the lives of fierce yet passionate gangsters and people living in a huge entertainment district, Kamurochō, a fictional district modeled after the violent Shinjuku ward’s Kabukichō, that acts as the backdrop of the gameplay. Like a Dragon: Yakuza showcases modern Japan and the dramatic stories of these intense characters, such as the legendary Kazuma Kiryu, that games in the past have not been able to explore.
