From April and The Seed of the Sacred Fig to a Christopher Nolan double-bill, here’s what’s coming to BFI Player’s subscription service in July 2025:
Following – 1st July
Christopher Nolan’s gritty neo-noir first feature about a young London writer who gets drawn into a criminal underworld.
Insomnia – 1st July
This psychological thriller directed by Christopher Nolan and written by Hillary Seitz is the only film directed by Nolan that he did not write. Starring Al Pacino, Robin Williams and Hilary Swank.
The Long Walk – 1st July
An old Laotian farmer, haunted by past trauma, encounters a ghost who transports him back in time, in Mattie Do’s evocative genre-bending film.
Student Services – 1st July
A cash-strapped student becomes an escort exposing the stark realities of economic exploitation in this uncompromising gritty French drama. Based on the book Mes chères études by Laura D.
April – 7th July
A doctor in rural Georgia faces scrutiny after a baby dies during childbirth in this affecting and atmospheric abortion drama.
