Amazon’s The Tick returns for Part 2 this February

Spoon! The Tick is returning to Amazon Prime Video this February for Part 2.
Starring Peter Serafinowicz and Griffin Newman, the superhero comedy is set in a world where superheroes have been real for decades. Arthur (Newman), an accountant with mental health issues and zero powers, comes to realise his city is owned by a global super villain who has been long-thought dead. As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, he falls in league with the strange blue superhero known as The Tick (Serafinowicz). Together, they launch into an adventure brimming with crazed arch villains, blood-soaked vigilantes, mad science, and superhuman freakery.
The show first premiered on Amazon Prime Video last year, with the first half of its maiden season (you can read our review of those episodes here). Now, six new chapters are on the way, introducing us to a host of new villains and characters, including Midnight (voiced by Townsend Coleman), Dr. Karamazov (John Pirkis), VLM (Ryan Woodle), Tinfoil Kevin (Devin Ratray) and Dangerboat (voiced by Alan Tudyk) – and to foil them, The Tick and Arthur will have to round up the gang in a crash collision course between justice and villainy.
The new episodes are unleashed on Friday 23rd February. Here’s a trailer – or scroll down below the video for a new poster. For more on The Tick, read our interview with Peter Serafinowicz here.

Destiny. Adventure. Blood loss. Good against evil. The Tick has everything you want from a TV series. The Amazon original, based on the unusual comic books, is Prime Video’s first superhero series – and, in case that wasn’t enough to stand out from the pack, is unlike any other superhero series you’ve seen.
Created by executive producer and original illustrator of The Tick Ben Edlund, the show is set in a world where superheroes have been real for decades and follows an accountant with zero powers, who comes to realise his city is owned by a super villain. As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero.
“When a TV show begins with the words “your reindeer are on fire”, you know you’re in for a good time,” we wrote in our review of the pilot. “At a time when superheroes are increasingly gloomy and adult, it’s a joy to have a series that stands out from the pack just by being weird. Crucially, while it’s smartly meta, The Tick isn’t a spoof of other superhero shows, but rather its own thing: a comedy in which the characters just happen to be comic book characters.”
“What the world needs know is us, sweet us,” declares The Tick, loudly, at the end of the trailer.
All episodes arrive on Friday 25th August. Here’s a trailer:
Amazon’s The Tick gets August release

Amazon’s The Tick will leap onto UK TV screens this August.
The show, based on the unusual comic books, is created by executive producer and original illustrator of The Tick Ben Edlund. In a world where superheroes have been real for decades, it follows an accountant with zero powers, who comes to realise his city is owned by a super villain. As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero.
That superhero is brought to life by none other than Peter Serafinowicz, with Griffin Newman (Search Party) playing Arthur, who becomes his unwitting sidekick, with weValorie Curry (Blair Witch) as his sister, Dot.
The Tick was part of Amazon’s pilot season last year, going on to be commissioned for a full series.
“When a TV show begins with the words “your reindeer are on fire”, you know you’re in for a good time,” we wrote in our review of the pilot. “At a time when superheroes are increasingly gloomy and adult, it’s a joy to have a series that stands out from the pack just by being weird. Crucially, while it’s smartly meta, The Tick isn’t a spoof of other superhero shows, but rather its own thing: a comedy in which the characters just happen to be comic book characters… With DC going increasingly dark at the multiplex, this is the superhero series we deserve – and the one that Amazon needs.”
All episodes of The Tick will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in the UK and US on Friday 25th August. Here’s a teaser trailer announcing the date:
