What’s leaving Sky and NOW TV in October / November 2019?
James R | On 29, Oct 2019
As November looms, the nights are drawing in and summer is an increasingly distant memory, but those long, dark evenings are perfect for catching up with some of Sky and NOW’s highlights. Whether it’s zombies, a bumper helping of Donald Glover or one of the best TV shows of the year, or the surprising Star Wars sequel that paved the way for next month’s Episode IX, this is your last chance to stream the following on Sky and NOW:
TV
Tin Star – 30th October
Tim Roth is excellent in both seasons of Sky’s hit drama about a man facing his demons in a remote community.
Atlanta: Season 1 and 2 – 3rd November
Donald Glover’s Golden Globe winning series is an exciting show that offers something refreshingly evolutionary in the modern TV landscape.
The Walking Dead: Season 1 to 9 – 8th November
Don’t miss the chance to catch up with AMC’s smash hit zombie series from the very beginning of its gruesome, often gripping tale.
The Young Pope: Season 1 – 12th November
Jude Law is brilliant in this dizzying examination of faith, duty and personal identity, as we follow the election of Lenny to the Vatican – the first American to become Pope.
Succession: Season 2 – 13th November
Created by Jesse Armstrong and starring Brian Cox, Succession is a bitingly funny drama following a family dynasty’s disintegration when the Roy family, owners of a global media empire, fight for control of the company through uncertainty over the health of their father.
Sex And The City: Season 1 to 6 – 13th November
All six seasons of Sex and the City as a box set to binge-watch? Fabulous, darling.
The Trip To Spain – 19th November
Michael Winterbottom’s BAFTA-nominated The Trip reunites Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon to go on a culinary journey through Spain. The result is as hilarious, and surprisingly thoughtful, as you’d expect.
A Discovery Of Witches: Season 1 – 30th October
Based on the novel of the same name, the first in the All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness, A Discovery of Witches tells the story of Diana Bishop (Teresa Palmer), a historian and reluctant witch who accesses a bewitched manuscript and sets out to solve its mystery. Despite a long-held mistrust between witches and vampires, Diana forms a friendship with a vampire Matthew Clairmont (Matthew Goode).

The Outpost
Movies
Sleeping Beauty (1959) – 31st October
The original animated classic departs Sky Cinema, along with several other Disney movies, including The Fox And The Hound.
Con Air – 31st October
The bunny in the box. The hair. The jump suits. The bit where Steve Buscemi sings He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands. Simon West’s actioner is the pinnacle of 90s Nic Cage action.
The Nightmare Before Christmas – 31st October
Tim Burton’s stop-motion flick takes the festive charm of Christmas and twists it with the warped horror of Halloween – a combination that director Henry Selick whips up with visually breathtaking glee. Combined with Danny Elfman’s superb soundtrack (Elfman sings the part of Pumpkin Jack), this is one musical guaranteed to freak out the whole family.
Zodiac – 31st October
David Fincher’s slow-burn thriller about the infamous serial killer and the hunt to work out his identity is a painstakingly constructed masterpiece fuelled by superb performances from Jake Gyllenhaal and Mark Ruffalo, mystery, fear and obsession.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi – 8th November
The epic saga continues with a thrilling eighth instalment that sees the Resistance clinging on as the relentless First Order closes in Our heroes – outnumbered and outgunned as ever – are trapped in a seemingly unwinnable game of cat and mouse. Their best and perhaps only chance for survival lies with self-exiled Jedi Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) and the plucky Rey (Daisy Ridley), sent to persuade him to save the day once more. Looper’s Rian Johnson pulls out all the stops here, utilising stunning experimental techniques, Kurosawa-inspired action and narrative twists on par with the series’ most shocking reveals.
