What’s leaving Amazon Prime Video UK in October / November 2019?

Halloween is almost here, but the thing that keeps us awake at night isn’t scary movies but the thought of missing a modern masterpiece before it departs our favourite streaming service. In the case of Amazon Prime Video, that means the risk of missing Easy A, You Were Never Really Here, The Boy and the Beast and Whiplash.
This is your last chance to stream the following:
Matilda – 29th October
Loved the stage show? Then now’s the perfect time to revisit Danny DeVito’s pitch-perfect screen adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic tale.
Easy A – 31st October
A starmaking turn from Emma Stone, a serious lesson and an endlessly quotable script make this teen movie an A-grade classic.
You Were Never Really Here – 1st November
When a teenage girl goes missing, a jaded, brutal enforcer attempts a rescue mission, only to uncover corruption and abuse of power along his way. With Joaquin Phoenix on gruff, disturbing form, and Lynne Ramsay presenting his ensuing rampage of violence with a darkly blunt edge, this is, in the words of our reviewer, “one of the most hellacious anti-genre genre flicks in quite some time”.
The Boy and the Beast – 2nd November
A thrilling tale of friendship and fighting.
Ocean’s Eleven – 5th November
Steven Soderbergh, George Clooney, Brad Pitt and more are clearly having a ball in this hugely entertaining heist remake – which departs along with the second two entries in the trilogy.
Whiplash – 6th November
A music student determined to be the best drummer of all time (Miles Teller) is pushed to his limits by a sadistic teacher (J.K. Simmons). The result is a riveting drama that has the toe-tapping style of jazz and the exhilarating thrill of an action movie.
Marie Antoinette – 6th November
Many greeted Sofia Coppola’s provocatively anachronistic follow-up to her Lost in Translation success with bafflement. With time, both the audacity of her pink punk period piece and her compassionate evocation of a woman under extreme circumstances has proven at once riotous, charming and enduring.
The Lost City of Z – 23rd November
At the dawn of the 20th century, British explorer Percy Fawcett journeys into the Amazon, where he discovers evidence of a previously unknown, advanced civilisation that may have once inhabited the region. Charlie Hunnam, Robert Pattinson and Sienna Miller are fantastic in James Gray’s true life story of adventure and discovery.
