YouTube is hosting a a live global singalong to Yellow Submarine today.
The Beatles’ classic, trippy animation sees the idyllic Pepperland attacked by the Blue Meanies – who hate music, sound and colour – prompting the Fab Four to team up with the Nowhere Man to rescue Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Boasting a timeless, amazing soundtrack – including Eleanor Rigby, When I’m Sixty-Four, Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds and All You Need Is Love – a singalong versino of George Dunning’s movie was released in cinemas in 2018 to mark the film’s 50h anniversary.
Now, it’s coming to YouTube on The Beatles’ channel, with lyrics at the bottom for viewers to join in. The live-stream will be held at 5pm UK time on Saturday 25th April.
“For those of you missing singing together, I’ve good news,” Ringo Starr announced on Twitter this week.. “The April 25 “Yellow Submarine” movie singalong on YouTube is “for kids and kids at heart. Peace and love. I know I’ll be there; I hope you will too.”
