UKTV Play is now available on Apple TV. The catch-up service, which covers the network’s free-to-channels, including Dave and Yesterday, boasts a diverse catalogue of shows. Currently on offer is a new series of Emmy and BAFTA nominated UKTV Original Taskmaster (the most watched show on UKTV Play last year), brand new scripted comedy Sliced, starring and co-written by BAFTA-nominated Samson Kayo, and every episode from Yesterday’s car auctioning show, Bangers and Cash. A new series of UKTV Original Judge Romesh (the second most watched show on UKTV Play last year) is also available.
Now, the service has expanded its reach to include Apple TV devices. It is also integrated with the all-new Apple TV app which brings together different ways to watch TV, as well as universal search and Siri, so users can easily find and play shows seamlessly on their iPhone, iPad or Apple TV.
UKTV Play’s general manager, Tom Davidson says: “Customers have been asking us to bring UKTV Play to Apple TV so I’m thrilled that they can now enjoy the seamless and brilliant viewing experience that the platform delivers. With thousands of hours of TV, exclusive previews and box-sets on offer, there’s truly something for everyone on UKTV Play, and by bringing it to the popular Apple TV platform, our extensive supply of entertaining TV is now even more accessible.”
Last month, UKTV Play won a Drum Mobile Marketing Award for its successful organic mobile growth strategy and the latest figures show that the service has achieved a 39 per cent year-on-year increase.
