Silo will return to Apple TV+ in November for Season 2.
Created by Graham Yost, who also serves as showrunner, and based on Hugh Howey’s trilogy of dystopian novels, the sci-fi thriller tells the story of the last 10,000 people on Earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built and any who try to find out face fatal consequences.
Rebecca Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer who begins to dig into the mystery behind events in the bunker.
“This gripping dystopian sci-fi is a thoughtful, surprising thriller about society and truth,” we wrote in our review of Season 1.
The series was rapidly renewed for a second season, following its debut in 2023. Now, Apple has confirmed that the show will debut its sophomore chapter this November. It has also announced a new face joining the cast: Steve Zahn (The White Lotus).
The news was unveiled during a special fan panel and conversation featuring series star and executive producer Rebecca Ferguson, star Common, creator and showrunner Graham Yost and executive producer Hugh Howey, as well as a special, surprise appearance by Zahn.
Silo Season 2’s cast will also include Tim Robbins, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Remmie Milner, Clare Perkins, Billy Postlethwaite, Rick Gomez, Caitlin Zoz, Tanya Moodie and Iain Glen.
You can see them in action from 15th November, with each episode of the 10-part season arriving weekly until the finale on 17th January 2025.
Here’s a new behind-the-scenes video also released at Comic-Con.

After its premiere in May this year, the series reached its first season finale this weekend – and Apple has already given the green light for a second chapter.
“It has been enormously fulfilling to see the engrossing, atmospheric and beautifully crafted sci-fi epic ‘Silo’ quickly become Apple’s number one drama series,” said Matt Cherniss, head of programming for Apple TV+. “As audiences around the world have become gripped by the mysteries and conspiracies buried within this fascinating subterranean world, viewership only continues to climb, and we are so excited for more secrets of the silo to be revealed in Season 2.”
“We cannot wait for audiences around the world to immerse themselves in the epic world we have created to bring Hugh Howey’s novels to life,” said Yost. “Apple has believed in our vision from day one and it’s an honor to have the opportunity to dig deeper into this story and peel back the layers to our characters in the silo.”
