Trailer: Netflix to test whether Love Is Blind this Valentine’s Day

Is love really blind? Netflix aims to find out with its new dating series set to debut this February.
Dating reality shows are enjoying something of a renaissance, with ITV’s Love Island enjoying huge success, proving one of the most-watched shows of recent years – and that smash hit has rippled across other channels, from Channel 5 reviving Blind Date and Channel 4 spinning off First Dates to BBC Three ordering both Eating with My Ex and Hot Property. Now, Netflix, which is stepping up its reality TV game, is hooking up with the romance genre.
Love Is Blind will see hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey bring together single people looking to meet the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with, but without ever seeing them. They’ll go on dates with a catch: they don’t meet face-to-face. With no distractions from the outside world, the singles talk to potential love interests and when a meaningful connection is made, they propose before laying their eyes on their fiancé for the first time.
Engaged and back in the real world, as the couples plan their wedding day, they will quickly discover whether they can turn their emotional connection into a physical one before the fast-approaching ceremony.
The 10-part series drops all at once on 13th February, just in time for Valentine’s Day. Here’s the trailer:
Love is Blind: Season 1 is available on Netflix UK, as part of an £9.99 monthly subscription.
