Trailer: Eminem’s Bodied heads to YouTube Premium

Eminem is headed to YouTube Premium with his latest project, a feature film that takes a satirical look at rap battles.
Produced by the rapper, and directed by Joseph Kahn (Torque and Detention), the film is described as a go-for-the-jugular, hilarious look inside the competitive world of rap battles. It follows Berkeley grad student Adam Merkin (Calum Worthy; American Vandal, Austin & Ally), who gets sucked into the game after meeting icon Behn Grym (Jackie Strong; BET’s Real Husbands of Hollywood) and accidentally competing in — and winning — his first battle. Rising through the ranks of the battle scene with his provocative insults, Adam alienates his academic buddies, uptight girlfriend, and literary professor father (Anthony Michael Hall).
The film marks an ongoing relationship between Eminem and Kahn, who has directed several of the musician’s videos, including Without Me, which won Kahn his first Grammy. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2017, where it took home the Grolsch People’s Choice Midnight Madness award.
YouTube Premium snapped up the rights for the project back at the start of the year, before hosting a special screening at Sundance, and has now announced an official release date for the film: it will be available on YouTube Premium from 28th November 2018, following a theatrical release on 2nd November in the USA.
