Netflix has released the soundtrack for The Witcher online, including the viral hit Toss a Coin to Your Witcher.
Based on the best-selling books, the series is an epic tale of fate and family. The story of the intertwined destinies of three individuals in the vast world of The Continent, where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes, and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil is not easily identified.
Henry Cavill stars as Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter who struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra), and a young princess, Ciri (Freya Allan), with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.
According to Netflix’s own figures, 76 million member households chose to watch the series during its first four weeks, making the show its biggest original series to date. Sales of The Witcher books and games are also reported to have spiked. Now, Netflix is pre-empting another spike in sales by releasing the soundtrack the show online, under an exclusive licence with Sony Music Entertainment.
The album, titled The Witcher (Music from the Netflix Original Series), comprises 55 tracks – including the original score from Sonya Belousova and Giona Ostinelli, featuring such cues as Geralt of Rivia, The Time of Axe and Sword Is Now, The Great Cleansing, Battle of Marnadal, The Curse of the Black Sun and Battle of Sodden. It also includes Toss a Coin to Your Witcher, sung by Jaskier (Batey).
It’s available from Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, Deezer, iTunes, YouTube Music and Tidal.
