The West Wing and Nashville have both arrived on All 4, as Channel 4’s streaming platform continues to bolster its box set line-up.
All 4 is home to the broadcaster’s linear TV programmes, ranging from Derry Girls to The Great Celebrate Bake off for SU2C, but it also hosts a growing library of box sets, ranging from Married at First Sight Australia to Threesome and The Big Bang Theory, making it the largest commercial broadcaster on-demand player for 16-34s by volume.
This month, The West Wing makes a return to the platform, after last streaming on the service in 2020. All seasons of Aaron Sorkin’s drama are now available once again, takeing us behind the scenes and experience of the inner workings of the White House and the Presidential advisors. Starring a sublime cast including Rob Lowe, Stockard Channing, Dulé Hill, Allison Janney, Janel Moloney, Richard Schiff, John Spencer, Bradley Whitford and Martin Sheen, as well as Joshua Malina, Mary McCormack, Alan Alda, Kristin Chenoweth, and Jimmy Smits, the show is now regarded as one of the best series ever brought to the small screen.
It’s joined by Weeds, which follows Nancy Botwin, a widower who spies a lucrative business in dealing marijuana to local clients. But the money comes with its own set of problems. Created by Jenji Kohan (Orange Is the New Black), it ran from 2005 to 2012 across 8 seasons.
Also arriving this month is the country music juggernaut Nashville. Connie Britton stars in the drama as music legend Rayna Jaymes, who reigns as the Queen of Country, but after two decades, her grip on the throne is slipping. Rayna refuses to be steamrolled by her record label as they present a new arrangement. In the face of an evolving industry, she is struggling to adapt and reinvent herself, which she must do if she plans to stay relevant Hayden Panettiere plays Juliette Barnes. Sexy, sassy, and trailing trouble in her wake, she’s also the country’s #1 crossover artist. In her climb to the top, Juliette’s public image is threatened by circumstances she struggles to control. And while she is determined to sit on Rayna’s throne, Juliette refuses to deal with her difficult past.
All six seasons of Nashville will be available soon.
