The Lobster is now available to watch online in the UK with a host of exclusive special features on We Are Colony.

Yorgos Lanthimos’ surreal comedy, which stars Colin Farrell, Rachel Weisz, John C Reilly and Ben Whishaw, is set in the near-future, where being single is illegal. Not coupled? Then you check in at The Hotel, where you have 45 days to find a mate. Succeed and you’re moved to a yacht for a honeymoon before being sent out into the wider, married world. Fail and your stay comes to an end. Oh, and you’re turned into an animal of your choice.

It’s an inspired conceit, cutting right through society’s attitudes towards relationships; being in one is accepted as the end goal for all people, while those without partners are considered abnormal.

What kind of twisted mind comes up with such an idea? The film’s out now on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download, but for those wanting extra behind-the-scenes content, We Are Colony is offering a bundle of extras with each purchase, from stills to interviews.
