Season 2 of The Knick will be available to watch online in the UK from Tuesday 12th January 2016.
Steven Soderbergh’s series premiered in the UK on Sky Atlantic, marking the latest arrival of big talent on the small screen: as well as being directed by the Academy Award winner, it starred Oscar nominee Clive Owen.
Set in downtown New York in 1900, The Knick centres on Knickerbocker Hospital and its ground-breaking surgeons, nurses and staff, who push the boundaries of medicine in a time of astonishingly high mortality rates and zero antibiotics. At the heart of it all is Dr John W Thatcher (Owen). Other cast members include Andre Holland, Eve Hewson, Juliet Rylance, Chris Sullivan, Cara Seymour, Eric Johnson and Leon Addison Brown.
A gripping tale of outdated ER practices, racial prejudices and drug addiction, we ranked the show in our most underrated series of the last 12 months – because nothing says “Golden Age of Television” quite like Clive Owen snorting coke and holding a scalpel. With a soundtrack by Drive’s Cliff Martinez, it’s no wonder that Cinemax wasted no time in renewing the show for a second run.
We join the show as Dr. Edwards (Holland) is looking to take over from Thackery but what will the future hold for the hospital?
The show returns on Tuesday 12th January 2016, when it will also be available to stream live online with NOW. Sky’s VOD service charges £6.99 a month for an Entertainment Membership, which gives you access to Sky’s main TV channels, as well as FOX UK and others. That means you can watch The Knick Season 2 live online – or on-demand – along with The Walking Dead Season 6 (returning in February), Arrow Season 4 (returning in February) and movie spin-off series Limitless, all without a contract.
Never seen The Knick? No problem: Season 1 of the show is already available on Sky On Demand and NOW for people to catch up with the drama.
