The Kissing Booth 3 on the way to Netflix
27th July 2020
The Kissing Booth 3 is officially on the way to Netflix.
The romantic comedy, which was was based on the Beth Reekles self-published coming-of-age novel that became an international sensation, was one of Netflix’s first in the genre, paving the way for the success of movies such as To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and Sierra Burgess Is a Loser.
A sequel was swiftly greenlit, catching us up with Elle (Joey King), after the most romantic summer of her life with reformed bad-boy boyfriend Noah (Jacob Elordi). But now Noah is off to Harvard, and Elle heads back to high school for her senior year. She’ll have to juggle a long-distance relationship, getting into her dream college with her best friend, Lee (Joel Courtney), and the complications brought on by a handsome, charismatic new classmate named Marco (Taylor Perez).
Director and screenwriter Vince Marcello returns at the helm, also writing the script with Jay Arnold. Now, within days of that second film being released, Netflix has confirmed that a third movie is on the way – and, in fact, has already been filmed.
The cast confirmed the news during a Fan Fest live stream on YouTube, revealing that the third movie was filmed back-to-back with the sequel last summer.
“I want to thank the fans for their tremendous support… the explosion of love has been so real. It’s because of everyone on here that all of this has happened,” Joey said.
