Christoph Waltz is heading to Amazon Prime Video this February for new series The Consultant – and a trailer gives us first look at him in action in the darkly comedic thriller.
The eight-part series, based on Bentley Little’s 2015 novel of the same name, explores the sinister relationship between boss and employee. Waltz stars as Regus Patoff, a new consultant hired to improve the business at the App-based gaming company CompWare, causing employees to experience new demands and challenges that put everything into question – including their lives.
Co-starring Nat Wolff as Craig, Brittany O’Grady as Elaine and Aimee Carrero as Patti, the series is created by showrunner Tony Basgallop (Servant), who exec-produces alongside Waltz, Steve Stark, and Andrew Mittman, plus pilot director Matt Shakman (WandaVision).
All eight episodes will premiere on 24th February on Amazon Prime Video. Here’s the trailer:

Christoph Waltz is heading to Amazon Prime Video for new workplace satire The Consultant.
The darkly comedic thriller is produced by MGM Television and Amazon Studios. Tony Basgallop, who created Servant for Apple TV+, will serve as showrunner on the project, with Matt Shakman (WandaVision, The Great, Game of Thrones)) on board as the director and executive producer.
Inspired by Bentley Little’s 2015 novel, the series explores the sinister relationship between boss and employee, asking how far we will go to get ahead, and to survive.
Waltz will exec-produce as well as star, alongside Basgallop, Shakman, Steve Stark and Andrew Mittman. Kai Dolbashian will serve as co-producer.
“Tony has created something truly unexpected with this series,” said Michael Wright, president of scripted TV at MGM.
“With The Consultant, Tony Basgallop has created something fearless with equal parts savage humor and delicious thrills,” said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon Studios. “We are excited to collaborate with him and the entire creative team in bringing this edge-of-your seat, can’t-miss series to our Prime Video customers across the globe.”
“It’s a huge honor to be working with the talents of Matt Shakman and Christoph Waltz on this project that I developed with the team at 1.21 and Toluca Pictures,” said Basgallop. “And with MGM and Amazon Studios we’ve found partners who are not afraid to be bold and explosive.”
