Suburra returns to Netflix this month for Season 3, and a new trailer gives us our first look at the crime drama’s final run.
The first original Italian Netflix crime thriller, Suburra was produced by Cattleya in collaboration with Rai Fiction. Based on the novel of the same name, the series is set in Rome and follows the fight over land in the seaside town of Ostia, which spirals into a deadly battle between organised crime, corrupt politicians and the Vatican.
This final chapter sees the fight to conquer Rome become more open and ruthless than ever. A big business that will tempt many is coming: the Jubilee, a promise of new illegal traffics, money and power. Whoever will take possession of it will govern the capital. But everything has a price and the throne of Rome too. This time, it will come at a certain price.
Suburra Season 3 premieres on Netflix on 30th October. Here’s the trailer:
Suburra is available on Netflix UK, as part of an £9.99 monthly subscription.

Filming is now underway on Season 3 of Netflix’s Suburra.
Season 2 saw the same criminals return, but with new alliances. The ensemble included Aureliano (Alessandro Borghi), Spadino (Giacomo Ferrara) and Lele (Eduardo Valdarnini), Sara Monaschi (Claudia Gerini), an ambitious financial consultant collaborating with the Church, the politician Amedeo Cinaglia (Filippo Nigro) and the unscrupulous boss Samurai (Francesco Acquaroli).
Now, the “profane trinity” – Church, State, Crime – returns to Netflix for the epic final act of Suburra.
The protagonists of the first two seasons are back: Aureliano (Alessandro Borghi), Spadino (Giacomo Ferrara), Amedeo Cinaglia (Filippo Nigro), Samurai (Francesco Acquaroli), Adamo Dionisi (Manfredi Anacleti), Sara Monaschi (Claudia Gerini), Adelaide Anacleti ( Paola Sotgiu), Angelica (Carlotta Antonelli), Nadia (Federica Sabatini), Alice Cinaglia (Rosa Diletta Rossi), Cardinal Fiorenzo Nascari (Alberto Cracco) and Adriano (Jacopo Venturiero).
After a tragic suicide, and the unexpected awakening from the coma of Manfredi, head of the Anacleti clan, Season 3 sees the balance of power between all the characters is again challenged. The season moves between the streets and alleys of Rome and the province to tell the world of crime even more closely. Who will win the battle to the death for power over the city?
The direction is by Arnaldo Catinari, the story editing by Giancarlo De Cataldo and Carlo Bonini, and the screenplay by Ezio Abbate, Fabrizio Bettelli, Andrea Nobile, Camilla Buizza and Marco Sani.
Suburra Season 3 will premiere on Netflix in 2020.
