Hayley Atwell is coming back to our TV screens in US drama Conviction, which has just been snapped up by Sky Living.
From The Mark Gordon Company and ABC Studios, the show tells the story of Hayes Morrison (Atwell), the brilliant but rebellious daughter of a former President, who is blackmailed into taking a job as the head of New York’s newly created Conviction Integrity Unit. Hayes, along with her team of lawyers, investigators and forensic experts, work together to examine cases where there’s credible suspicion that the wrong person may have been convicted of a crime.
Co-created by writer Liz Friedman and director Liz Friedlander, Conviction also stars Eddie Cahill (CSI: NY), Shawn Ashmore (X Men), Merrin Dungey (Alias), Emily Kinney (The Walking Dead), Manny Montana (Graceland) and Daniel Franzese (HBO’s Looking). The Executive Producers are Mark Gordon, Liz Friedman, Liz Friedlander and Nicholas Pepper.
In a deal with eOne, which handles the international rights for the show, Sky has added to the programme to its growing number of exclusives for Sky Living, which include Grey’s Anatomy, The Blacklist, Criminal Minds and Blindspot.
Adam MacDonald, Director of Sky Living, says: “As the home of the best-loved US network dramas, Conviction is a perfect fit for Sky Living. With strong characters, engrossing storylines and suspense-filled moments, the show is sure to make it to the top of our customers’ ‘must watch’ list.”
The series will premiere on Wednesday 2nd November at 9pm.
