Walter Presents goes back to The Border for Season 2

Walter Presents is going back to The Border this week for Season 2.
The critically acclaimed series, set against the uninhabitable wilderness of the Polish Bieszczady Mountains, follows a unit that specialises in protecting the border from people-traffickers – until they become the target of a devastating bomb attack.
“Whether you’re in it for the topical themes or the wrongly-accused-innocent-man drama, the result is a smart piece of programming,” we wrote in our review, which described it as “an intriguing, compelling bit of telly”.
Season 2 picks up four years on from the knife-edge conclusion of the first. The series continues to follow Rebrow, ex-border guard now on the run in the woods for a crime he didn’t commit. With more people illegally crossing the border than ever and a murder on their hands, will the border officers survive the mounting pressure in such isolation?
Everything changes when an illegal immigrant, Alsu, stumbles into Rebrow’s hideaway. Meanwhile, a gruesome murder is committed in the border control area forcing Prosecutor Dobosz to reluctantly return to the snowy region to lead the investigation. Still haunted by the past, Dobosz begins to unveil a dark conspiracy. The Border explores the issues of the ethical versus the political and the catastrophic consequences these can have on the vulnerable.
The Border stars Andrzej Zielinski, who featured alongside Adrian Brody in the war epic The Pianist, as well as Bartlomiej Topa, who won the Best Actor award at the Netia Off Camera International Festival. The series directors, Kasia Adamik and Jan P. Matuszynski, were also awarded the best fictional series accolade at the Polish Film Awards in 2018.
Season 2 premieres as a full box set on Walter Presents via All 4 on Friday 4th October.
