Jessica Alba is heading to Disney+ for a new series, Parenting without Borders.
The docuseries is based on a book of the same name, which was published in 2013. Written by Christine Gross-Loh, Ph.D, it reveals the surprising ways that culture shapes parenting in countries ranging from Finland and Sweden to France and Japan, with research-based insight into the strengths of each strategy.
Alba will exec-produce the series and also front it, reports Deadline, with a similar globe-trotting scale planned. Pitched as Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown for parenting, the travel series will see Alba immerse herself with families around the world, exploring beliefs and practices that shape families today.
Kathryn O’Kane, who produced Netflix’s Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat, will serve as director and showrunner on the series. Alba, who also co-founded baby product firm The Honest Company, will exec-produce alongside Boardwalk Pictures’ Andrew Fried and Dane Lillegard, Jamie Patricof of Hunting Lane, Doug Banker of Five All In The Fifth and Trevor Engelson of Underground.
