Once Upon a Time Season 5 arrives on Netflix UK on Wednesday 30th September 2015.

The show, which returned for its fifth run on Disney ABC in America this week, was acquired by the streaming giant earlier this year. It was once broadcast on Channel 5 in the UK, but the broadcaster dropped the series way back in 2013, leaving fans with no fixed place for their fairy tale fix. Enter Netflix, which bought up the rights in March and premiering the fourth season every week after its broadcast. Season 5 will follow the same format: new episodes of the show will arrive every Wednesday, starting today with The Dark Swan, three days after their US broadcast.
For the uninitiated, the fantasy series sees Mary (Ginnifer Goodwin) drawn to the small Maine town of Storybrooke, where elements of the fairy tale universe seep into the modern, real world. That, it turns out, is because the Evil Queen Regina (Lana Parrilla) has sent everyone from the Enchanted Forest to the Land Without Magic after wiping their memories with a curse from – yes – Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle).

The fifth season will see Amy Mason join the ensemble of familiar figures as Brave’s Merida, along with figures from Arthurian legend, including Guinevere (Joana Metrass), Percival (Andrew Jenkins) and Merlin (Elliot Knight).
