Netflix’s Chef’s Table serves up BBQ special

“The smoke. It gets your attention…” That’s the sound of Netflix getting its BBQ on with a special new series of Chef’s Table.
The streaming giant’s series was its second ever documentary to be commissioned, and quickly won over audiences with its portrait of some of the world’s top chefs, crafting a mouthwatering combination of human interest and food porn. Created by David Gelb as a follow-up to his documentary Jiro Dreams of Sush, it has since gone on to become one of Netflix’s longest-running originals.
Along the way, it’s diversified into specific cuisines and countries and now, after its sixth season last year, it’s dishing up some fiery delights, as it shifts its focus to the art of the barbecue. The series will introduce us to Tootsie from Texas, who feels her grills with her hands, Lennox from Australia, who likes to cook lettuce and even pastry with fire, Rosalia from Mexico, who is inspired by cooking the way Mayans did thousands of years ago, and Rodney, from South Carolina, who highlights the communal element of bringing people together.
Chef’s Table: BBQ premieres on 2nd September. And if your mouth isn’t already watering, here’s a trailer guaranteed to work up your appetite:
Chef’s Table: BBQ is available on Netflix UK, as part of an £9.99 monthly subscription.
