Another month closer to Adam Sandler’s next Netflix original film and the first full trailer has arrived.
Yes, a new video teasing Sandy Wexler has been unveiled by the streaming giant, marking the third project in the comedian’s four-picture deal. The agreement, signed back in 2014, was apparently driven by Netflix’s data that found he was among the few performers whose films consistently ranked among the most viewed by subscribers around the globe.
“People love Adam’s films on Netflix and often watch them again and again,” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos at the time. “His appeal spans across viewers of all ages – everybody has a favourite movie, everyone has a favourite line – not just in the US but all over the world.”
And so, after The Ridiculous Six and The Do-Over, Sandler takes us back to the 1990s to meet Sandy Wexler. Played by Sandler, Sandy is a talent manager working in Los Angeles, who represents a group of eccentric clients on the fringes of show business. His single-minded devotion is put to the test when he falls in love with his newest client, Courtney Clarke (Jennifer Hudson), a talented singer whom he discovers at an amusement park.
Directed by The Do-Over’s Steve Brill, co-starring Kevin James, Rob Schneider and Jane Seymour, and boasting a ridiculous number of celebrity cameos, the film will be released on Netflix worldwide on 14th April.
Here’s the full trailer, which currently has more dislikes than likes on YouTube.
