Sundance hasn’t kicked off yet this year, but Netflix is already preparing to launch one of its festival titles this spring: Seeing Allred.
Directed by Sophie Sartain and Roberta Grossman, the film profiles Gloria Allred, who overcame trauma and personal setbacks to become one of the nation’s most famous women’s rights attorneys.
She has devoted 40 years to asserting and protecting the rights of women, overcoming personal trauma, media scrutiny, and powerful men. Now, the feminist firebrand takes on two of the biggest adversaries of her career – Bill Cosby and Donald Trump – as sexual violence allegations grip the nation and keep her in the spotlight.
The film is produced by Sartain and Grossman, alongside Marta Kauffman, Robbie Rowe Tollin and Hannah KS Canter. It has its World Premiere at Sundance, which runs from 18th January to 28th January. It will then be released worldwide on Netflix on Friday 9th February.
