My Next Guest with David Letterman is returning to Netflix with one of its highest profile guests yet: Shah Rukh Khan.

The series is one of Netflix’s most successful attempts to date to enter the competitive talk show arena, with Letterman swapping stunts and skits for untopical, in-depth chat. The US TV veteran interview guests from all walks of life, with the main criteria being that they are extraordinary figures whom Dave finds fascinating. In interviews that take place both inside and outside a studio setting, the conversations are intimate and far-reaching, delivered with David’s typical levity and humour.

Season 2 saw David interview Ellen Degeneres, Tiffany Haddish, Lewis Hamilton and Melinda Gates, as well as Kanye West. Now, the King of Bollywood himself, Shah Rukh Khan, is sitting down with Letterman for a chat. The Indian actor, film producer, and television personality has appeared in more than 80 Indian films, and earned numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards, is an entrepreneur and philanthropist He’s no stranger to Netflix, either, and is currently producing Bard of Blood and Class of ‘83 for the streaming service.

Letterman sat down with him in May this war for a candid conversation.

Khan said: “I’ve watched David Letterman’s late-night talk show for years and I’m a huge fan of his style of interviewing. I’m thrilled, and honoured to share my story with him. That this is on Netflix is even more special – I’m working with the team on various projects and it’s always been exciting partnering with them.”

After interviewing Shah Rukh Khan in front of a live audience, Letterman said: “The best part of this job that Netflix has been happy to provide for me is to meet people. And after each one of these sessions I think to myself, it is a very smart, very lovely person from whom I have learned things. You would maybe be at the top of that list.”

The show will be presented as a stand alone special on Netflix on 25th October.
