Saturday Night Live UK is officially happening, with the legendary comedy showcase arriving on this side of the pond for the first time.

The sketch comedy series, which marks its 50th anniversary this year in the USA, has long been a one-of-a-kind feat of TV. SNL has won the most Emmy Awards in TV history, has been honoured four times with the prestigious George Foster Peabody Award and was inducted into the Broadcasting Hall of Fame. The show has launched the careers of some of the greatest comedic voices in history, including Bill Murray, Eddie Murphy, Tina Fey, Will Ferrell, and countless more. 

Unsurprisingly, a UK version has long been in various stages of being attempted over the years. Now, Sky is finally bringing NBC’s long-running gem to the UK and Ireland, with a star-studded line-up of hosts set to take to the stage to declare: “Live from London, it’s Saturday Night!”

The London-based series will follow the same live, fast-paced style that has made the show a cultural phenomenon with iconic hosts, musical guests and a core cast of the funniest British comedians around.

SNL UK will be produced by Broadway Video and Universal Television Alternative Studio’s UK production team, with SNL creator Lorne Michaels set to executive produce both the UK and US incarnations.

The series will premiere in 2026 on Sky Max and NOW.
