Eddie Redmayne and Jessica Chastain are heading to Netflix this October, and a new trailer gives us a first look at them in action in The Good Nurse.
The film, which marks Tobias Lindholm’s English-language feature directorial debut, will tell the true story of the prolific serial killer nurse Charlie Cullen. Lindholm (The Investigation, Another Round, A War) will helm from a script by Krysty Wilson-Cairns (1917), based on the book of the same name by journalist Charles Graeber.
Cullen was quickly dubbed ‘The Angel of Death’ by the media, but was a husband, father and celebrated caregiver. Implicated in the deaths of as many as 300 patients, his murderous career in the world’s most trusted profession spanned 16 years and nine hospitals across New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The film follows a nurse (Chastain), who, suspicious that her colleague (Redmayne) is responsible for a series of mysterious patient deaths,) risks her own life to uncover the truth.
The thriller premieres on Netflix on 26th October. Here’s the trailer:
