Update: The release date has now been postponed to 11th May 2022, with all episodes arriving at once.
How I Met Your Father will head to Disney+ in the UK this March.
Created by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, the sequel to How I Met Your Mother was officially given the green light last year. Set the near future, it follows Sophie as she tells her son the story of how she met his father: a story that catapults us back to the present where Sophie and her close-knit group of friends are in the midst of figuring out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options.
Hilary Duff stars as Sophie, with the cast including Chris Lowell, Francia Raisa, Tom Ainsley, Suraj Sharma and Tien Tran – plus Kim Cattrall as the older Sophie in the future recounting the events.
The series premiered on Hulu in the USA on 18th January. Now, fans in the UK know how long they have to wait to see it on screens this side of the pond, with Disney+ confirming that it will premiere on Wednesday 9th March, as part of the streaming service’s adult-friendly channel, Star.
It kicks off a month of high-profile new titles on Disney+, including Disney and Pixar’s Turning Red on Friday 11th March, The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild on Friday 25th March and Moon Knight on Wednesday 30th March.
