FrightFest officially goes online this August Bank Holiday weekend, and it’s bringing some of the most buzzed-about filmmakers from the genre with it.
The five-day event, kicking off on Thursday 27th August, will stream 25 feature films from 10 countries, including 7 world premieres and 16 UK premieres, not to mention a bunch of new short films from talent around the world.
Alongside that streaming line-up are a sprinkling of added events, with the whole festival kicking off with a live online quiz from Mike Muncer, host of the podcast Evolution of Horror. On Monday 31st, the Arrow Video podcast will be recording a special episode live. And, on Sunday night, Horror in Lockdown will discuss the pandemic’s effect on the horror genre.
Holding that debate will be The Final Girls’ Anna Bogutskaya, Den of Geek’s Rosie Fletcher, plus Paul Tremblay, the author of The Cabin at the End of the World, Saint Maud director Rose Glass and Host director Rob Savage.
The panel will take place at 7pm on Sunday and is free. For the rest of the weekend, an overall pass costs £60 and single tickets cost £5 – with each short film showcase requiring one ticket.
