Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 gets UK air date

Grey’s Anatomy is finally back on UK TV screens this autumn, with Shondaland’s hospital saga reaching its 18th season.
The longest-running primetime medical drama in the world is known or its life-and-death melodrama, and that’s been even truer this year. Set in the midst of the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Season 17 saw Grey Sloan Memorial and its surgeons’ lives turned upside down, picking things up one month into the pandemic, found Meredith, Bailey and the rest of the Grey Sloan doctors find themselves on the frontlines of a new era.
With Meredith in a coma for much of Season 17, the result was a parade through memories and past fan favourites, with Patrick Dempsey appearing as Derek Shepherd, alongside other former cast members, including TR Knight as George O’Malley, Chyler Leigh as Lexie Grey, Eric Dane as Mark Sloan and Sarah Drew as April Kepner.
By the end of Season 17, though, she had come out of the coma, and Season 18 finds the city of Seattle revelling in its rebirth post-pandemic. Bailey has her sights on hiring new doctors, but there seems to be a lack of viable options. Owen and Teddy attempt to take the next step in their engagement, and Meredith meets a dynamic doctor with a connection to her mother.
While we had to wait several months for Season 17 in the UK, though, Season 18 is rapidly arriving on our screens, with Episode 1 airing on Wednesday 10th November on Sky Witness at 9pm. Episodes will then air weekly on Sky Witness, with each one available on-demand following their broadcast. Never seen the show? See our beginner’s guide to catching up here.
