Cate Blanchett is heading to Netflix this July with Stateless, a new series she stars in and has co-created – and a new trailer gives us a first look at the show in action.
The drama follows four strangers whose lives collide at an immigration detention centre in the middle of the Australian desert: an airline hostess on the run from a dangerous cult, an Afghan refugee and his family fleeing persecution, a young father escaping a dead-end job and a bureaucrat running out of time to contain a national scandal.
Yvonne Strahovski and Dominic West co-star in the series, which is partly inspired by the true story of Cornelia Rau, a permanent resident of Australia who was unlawfully detained by the country’s government.
The series premieres on Netflix on 8th July. Here’s your trailer:
Stateless is available on Netflix UK, as part of an £9.99 monthly subscription.
