Film4 launches on All 4

Film4 has launched on All 4, bringing a selection of movies to Channel 4’s on-demand platform.
The free-to-air channel first launched in 1998 as a subscription channel until 2006, when it was repositioned as a free service with commercial breaks, making it one of the few free movie channels available on digital terrestrial TV, alongside such channels as Sony Movies (formerly Movie Mix). Film4oD followed for a short time, offering movies to rent online, but it closed in 2015.
Since then, it has not had an on-demand presence, with the catch-up service All 4 – formerly 4oD – only offering programmes to stream from Channel 4, More4 and E4, although some movies broadcast on Channel 4 have been added to All 4, such as Free Solo, which is still available to stream.
Now, Film4 is back online, with movies available for free, with adverts.
The Film4 channel is featured on the app and website homepage, alongside Featured Channels and Black British History, and contains a selection of movies broadcast on Film4. Each film is available for a varied amount of time after its broadcast, and are available on both All 4 and Sky.
Films are streamed in 576i SD, with All 4 still not officially supporting HD resolution on any of its content.
The selection of titles is limited, with 20 movies in total. Here’s the full rundown:
