The BBC Three series showcases the most fabulous drag queens that the UK has to offer, as RuPaul searches for the UK’s Next Drag Race Superstar. Season 1 was a hit, with more than 15.8 million requests on BBC iPlayer. With the queens for Season 2 unveiled yesterday, BBC Three has now confirmed the line-up of celebrity guests, who will join RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Graham Norton and Alan Carr to make a fierce panel of Drag Race judges.
Model, actress, bikini designer, and British icon Elizabeth Hurley joined the judging panel as filming kicked off earlier this year and the Queens served their first looks. Award-winning actress of stage and screen, Sheridan Smith also joins the panel. A self-confessed Drag Race superfan, Sheridan takes her place as the Queens face the music and dance. After taking part in last year’s Snatch Game, TV presenter Lorraine Kelly returns to RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, this time on the main stage panel, after a challenge that may give the reigning Queen of morning television some competition for her crown. Grammy and MOBO-nominated singer and artist MNEK is no stranger to RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, having taken part in Season 1 as the celebrity guest vocal coach in the challenge which saw The Frock Destroyers rise through the charts with their single Break Up Bye Bye. Fashion powerhouse Jourdan Dunn lends her catwalk expertise to the queens, imparting the knowledge she’s gained from decades in the industry, as the Queens work the runway.
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 2 premieres on BBC iPlayer at 7pm on Thursday 14th January.
