Dolittle, starring Robert Downey Jr, has debuted at the top of the UK’s Official Film Chart this week.
The only weekly chart in the world to count both physical disc and digital download sales has seen the family adventure fly to the top of the chart on digital downloads alone, with a huge 45,000 sales in its opening week. Onward, meanwhile, returns to its peak of Number 2 thanks to its release across disc, as 1917 drops to Number 3.
At Number 4, the critically acclaimed Parasite, fresh from winning Best Picture at the Oscars, makes its debut, becoming the first non-English-language film to enter the Official UK Top 10. Bong Joon-ho’s masterpiece follows the destitute Kim family, who orchestrate a plan to become servants for the wealthy Parks family by posing as qualified workers, while greed and class discrimination threaten the relationship that forms between them.
Last week’s chart-topper Bad Boys For Life drops to Number 5, as Cats claws up a place to Number 6. Little Women drops to 7, while Frozen 2 stays where it is at Number 8.
The week’s third new entry is sci-fi horror Underwater, debuting at Number 9. It sees a massive earthquake devastate a drilling station in the bottom of an oceanic trench, leaving the crew trying to get to safety as they battle deep-sea creatures, darkness and a lack of oxygen. Finally, rounding off this week’s countdown, Jumanji: The Next Level hangs on at Number 10.
