Disney+ has unveiled small snippets of new footage for a number of upcoming Marvel titles, giving fans a first look, or a closer glimpse, at its growing slate of TV series.
The video, which has been released on Disney+ to mark the streaming service’s second anniversary, includes teasers or title treatments for Hawkeye, Moon Knight, She-Hulk, Secret Invasion and Ms Marvel.
Ms Marvel introduces viewers to Kamala, a 16-year old Pakistani American from Jersey City. An aspiring artist, an avid gamer, and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, she is a huge fan of the Avengers — and one in particular, Captain Marvel. But Kamala has always struggled to find her place in the world — that is until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Iman Vellani stars as Kamala Khan aka Ms Marvel, and the video on Disney+ gives us a first glimpse of her in character.
There’s also a look at Samuel L Jackson in Secret Invasion, a series that reunites Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos after Captain Marvel to investigate a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.
She-Hulk follows Jennifer, a lawyer who specialises in superhuman-oriented legal cases. She-Hulk will welcome a host of Marvel characters to the series, including the Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo, and the Abomination, played by Tim Roth. The teaser for the new comedy series gives us a first look at Hulk and She-Hulk interacting, with a new logo treatment also unveiled.
A new logo treatment was also released for Marvel Studios’ Ironheart. The series stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, a genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man.
Perhaps most intriguing is the brief footage of Oscar Isaac looking rather panicked in the upcoming Moon Knight. The series follows a complex vigilante who suffers from dissociative identity disorder. The multiple identities who live inside him find themselves thrust into a deadly war of the gods against the backdrop of modern and ancient Egypt.
The video is available only on Disney+, with full trailers for the above all to be released at a future date.
