Dave has ordered a second helping of Sliced, the sitcom starring Samson Kayo (Famalam).
He plays Joshua, a down-on-his-luck pizza delivery driver in south London. The series is written by Samson Kayo and Phil Bowker (PhoneShop) and produced by Lovely Electricity. It was commissioned for UKTV by Pete Thornton, head of scripted, and ordered by Richard Watsham, director of commissioning, Luke Hales, Dave channel director, and Steve North, genre general manager, comedy and entertainment.
The first season of three episodes reached over 1.7 million viewers. Now, UKTV has announced that it will return for another six episodes.
Kayo says: “We go again! I’m so excited to be back on Dave with series two. Last series was just a taster, now it’s go time! I’m looking forward to creating some more explosively funny and authentic stories with this amazingly talented team.”
Thornton adds: “Samson and Phil make for a formidable creative duo, the Batman and Robin of the writer/performer/just writer comedy world, and they are supported by an extraordinary cast of established talent and rising stars. This is a show that really hits the sweet spot for Dave, we love it with a passion and we can’t wait to make more.”
Sliced Season 2 will air on Dave later this year.
