Channel 4’s Bake Off returns on 24th September

The Great British Bake Off will officially return to our screens this month, with Channel 4 finally confirming the 2024 season of the show’s air date.
The baking competition will once again be hosted by presenter duo Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding, while the dozen contestant’s culinary creations will be judged, as always, by returning experts Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.
The competition will begin on Tuesday 24th September at 8pm on Channel 4, with episodes arriving weekly. The news comes after Channel 4 has taken a new approach to its advertising campaign around the contest, with an animated series of shorts highlighting the “sweet relief” that the show brings to viewers during dark, tumultuous times.
Developed by Channel 4’s in-house agency 4creative along with Nexus Studios, the animations depict Noel and Alison as a butterfly and leopard print clad Queen Bee, who take audiences from a stormy, angry sky into a bright and colourful idyllic world of baked goods – where, of course the iconic tent awaits.
Lex Down, Deputy Executive Creative Director, 4creative at Channel 4 says: “The Great British Bake Off is comfort telly at its best. We wanted our campaign to reflect this and deliver its own slice of cakey warmth and joy. We created pin badges adorned with bright baking illustrations and messages of positivity, and in a Great British Bake Off first created a fully animated world rich with detail that reveals different delights with each watch. Set to the smooth voice of Sammy Davis Jnr singing Sweet Gingerbread Man, with Noel and Alison as our metamorphosed guides, we hope to transport young and old, baking fans or not, to a place where the worst that might happen is a collapsing cake.”
The countdown begins now.
