Camila Mendes and Maya Hawke are teaming up for Strangers, a new film for Netflix.

The movie will bring together two of the streaming service’s most notable young stars: Mendes, who plays Veronica in Riverdale and starred in Netflix rom-com The Perfect Date, and Hawke, who plays Robin in Stranger Things.

The film is directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who helmed Someone Great for Netflix, who co-wrote the script with Celeste Ballard. Not much is know about the young adult movie, but Netflix has described it as a “subverted Hitchockian dark comedy featuring the scariest protagonists of all: teenage girls”.

With Mendes fresh from starring in Palm Springs with Andy Samberg and Hawke soon to be seen in Showtime and Sky Atlantic series The Good Lord Bird, expect this to be high on our most-anticipated list for 2021.
