BritBox arrives on Amazon Fire TV

BritBox is now available on Amazon Fire TV devices.
A joint venture between the BBC and ITV, the subscription platform brings together British TV box sets from recent years and decades past, with ITV, the Beeb and Channel 5 all on-board, with Channel 4 content starting to arrive from next month. Exclusive box sets currently include Classic Doctor Who, Shetland and Broadchurch. With a lot of content still available on BBC iPlayer and Netflix UK – until their rights expire and they can become BritBox exclusives – BritBox is wasting no time in countering that by expanding its reach as wide as possible.
At launch, the platform was available on iOS and Android devices, and has since launched on Chromecast, Apple TV Panasonic’s premium range of televisions and smart TVs using the Vestel platform. It is also available to watch on PC & Mac at britbox.co.uk. Now, it’s also available on Fire TV devices, which means around 15 million homes are now able to watch BritBox on the TV in their living room.
BritBox will be adding support for YouView and other Freeview Play Smart TVs in the next few months.
Subscribers who already have BritBox on their FireTV may need to update the BritBox app to ensure that they’ve got the latest version.
