Blink Speed: Cynthia Erivo to star in Netflix sci-fi

Cynthia Erivo will star in and produce Blink Speed, a sci-fi film for Netflix.

The streamer has acquired the rights to Eric Brown’s short story, which will be adapted to film by Brown himself. Brown currently has another screenplay, Queen Bitch and the High Horse, in the works with Cate Blanchett producing and Bert & Bartie directing.

Erivo is no stranger to Netflix, having recently signed on to appear in the streamer’s Luther feature film, co-starring Idris Elba and Andy Serkis. She will also star in Apple TV+ series Roaro and the Disney+ live-action remake of Pinocchio.

Here, the Grammy, Tony and Emmy Winner will produce alongside Solome Williams for Edith’s Daughter and Matt Jackson for Jackson Pictures, with Joanne Lee exec-producing for Jackson Pictures.

The film will follow a young woman who, after a near death experience, is plagued by a rare and mysterious savant ability that may be the key to unlocking the truth behind her fractured memory and past.
