Netflix has released new character posters for Beasts of No Nation.
The drama, written and directed by True Detective’s Cary Fukunaga, stars newcomer Abraham Attah as Agu, a child soldier torn from his family to fight in the civil war of an African country. Idris Elba co-stars as Commandant, a warlord who takes in Agu and instructs him in the ways of war.
The film is based on the acclaimed novel by Nigerian author Uzodinma Iweala and marks the first feature film to be produced and distributed by the streaming service. The movie is already tapped for awards race consideration, with the project set to premiere in competition at the Venice Film Festival and screen at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
The film will be released in US cinemas on Friday 16th October, when it will also premiere on Netflix in all of its territories.
The artwork showcases both Elba and Attah as Agu and the Commandant. Here they are in full – and broken down into closer looks at each poster.
