Apple TV+ is officially coming to Sky, as part of a new long-term agreement between the broadcaster and tech giant.
The deal will see Apple TV+ launch on Sky Glass and Sky Q later this year. Customers in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria and Italy will be able to watch such Apple Originals as Ted Lasso and The Morning Show through their Sky Glass and Sky Q devices, in the same way that Sky has also partnered Netflix and Disney+.
As part of the same deal, NOW will become more integrated into Apple devices, with users in the UK soon able to both sign up and purchase any NOW Membership via the NOW app, making things more integrated.
Also, in mid-2022, Sky customers in the UK will be able to access Sky Go on Apple TV devices.
The agreement completes Sky’s TV content aggregation strategy, and also follows the reveal of Sky Glass, a smart TV with Sky built-in.
Dana Strong, Group Chief Executive, Sky said: “With the addition of Apple TV+ our customers can now enjoy phenomenal shows like The Morning Show, Trying and Ted Lasso, together with our own award-winning Sky Originals, and the best content and apps from our partners, all on Sky Glass, the streaming TV from Sky, or Sky Q, our market-leading Sky box.”
