Watch: Trailer for Upload Season 3
David Farnor | On 23, Sep 2023
Upload will once again boot up this October and a new trailer gives us a first taste of what’s in store in Season 3.
Created by Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation, King of the Hill), the comedy is set in a technologically advanced future where holographic phones, self-driving vehicles, AI assistance, and 3D food printers are the norm. And, forget about dying – instead, you’ll be “uploaded” to a virtual reality afterlife, and enjoy all the comforts of a world-class resort. Provided you can afford it.
“Greg Daniels’ high-concept sci-fi comedy balances absurd silliness with satirical smarts,” we wrote in our review. (Warning: Spoilers for Season 1 and 2 follow.)
Season 3 picks up with Nora and freshly downloaded Nathan as they navigate their relationship, while racing to stop the mysterious conspiracy that threatens to destroy millions of lives. Can they shut down Freeyond, and finally have a real life together? Or is it just a matter of time until Nathan’s head explodes? Meanwhile, in Lakeview, a backup copy of Nathan has been activated and Ingrid’s not about to let this second chance at love slip away. Back in the real world, Aleesha rises through the ranks of Horizen by managing AI education, and falls into a new romantic relationship. And Luke, all alone in Lakeview, is forced to come up with the funds to pay for his stay in paradise, driving him to work in The Grey Zone.
Season 3 premieres on Friday 20th October, with two episodes arriving weekly until the finale on 10th November. Here’s the video:

Amazon renews Upload for Season 3

Amazon is booting up Upload for a third season.
Created by Greg Daniels, who also serves as executive producer along with Howard Klein, the sci-fi comedy is set in a technologically advanced future where hologram phones, 3D food printers and automated grocery stores are the norm. Most uniquely, humans can choose to be “uploaded” into a virtual afterlife. In Season 2, Nathan was at a crossroads in his (after) life: His ex-girlfriend Ingrid unexpectedly arrived to Lakeview hoping to strengthen their relationship, but his heart still secretly yearned for his customer service angel, Nora. Meanwhile, Nora was off the grid and involved with the anti-tech rebel group “The Ludds.”
The series stars Robbie Amell as Nathan, Andy Allo as Nora, Kevin Bigley as Luke, Allegra Edwards as Ingrid, Zainab Johnson as Aleesha, Owen Daniels as A.I. Guy, Josh Banday as Ivan and Andrea Rosen as Lucy.
Season 2 premiered on 11th March and has remained one of the 10 most popular series on Amazon Prime Video ever since. Now, Amazon Studios has renewed the comedy for a third season
“Upload has become a bonafide hit that continues to be one of the most watched comedy originals on Prime Video,” said Vernon Sanders, head of global television, Amazon Studios. “The series continues to connect and provoke endless possibilities for the future of technology and humanity. With Greg’s distinct comedic take along with the dynamic creative team and talented actors, they’ve made a globally relevant series which we’re all incredibly proud to bring back another season for our customers.”
Greg Daniels added: “I’m thrilled to continue the story of Nathan and Nora and the other residents of Lakeview and near-future America as they try to have fun and do the right thing in both the real and virtual worlds.”
