Watch: First trailer for Amazon’s I Know What You Did Last Summer series

It’s not long now until Amazon brings I Know What You Did Last Summer back to our screens, and a new trailer gives us a proper glimpse of the horror series in action.
The eight-episode series, which is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television, is based on Lois Duncan’s 1973 novel, which was also the basis of the iconic 1997 film. Written and executive produced by Sara Goodman, the series is set one year after the fatal car accident that haunted a group of teenagers’s graduation night. They find themselves bound together by a dark secret and stalked by a brutal killer. As they try to piece together who’s after them, they reveal the dark side of their seemingly perfect town — and themselves.
The series stars Madison Iseman, Bill Heck, Brianne Tju, Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore, Sebastian Amoruso, Fiona Rene, Cassie Beck, and Brooke Bloom.
The first four episodes arrive at once on Friday 15th October, with the remaining four episodes released weekly. Here’s the trailer:

Amazon’s I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot will arrive on our screens this audience, and new images give us a first look at the series.

Goodman writes and executive produces alongside Original Film’s Neal H Moritz and Pavun Shetty, Erik Feig, Peter Guber, Atomic Monster’s James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett, Craig William Macneill and Shay Hatten.

Amazon recruits cast for I Know What You Did Last Summer series

A new TV show based on I Know What You Did Last Summer is in the works at Amazon Studios, and the series has begun assembling its cast.
Written by Kevin Williamson and starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr, the iconic slasher joined Scream as one of the definitive 1990s horror flicks. The film was inspired by the the 1973 novel of the same name by Lois Duncan. Amazon’s series will be written by Preacher’s Sara Goodman and take its cue from the book, which introduces us to a group of teens who are stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on graduation night.
Goodman will write and executive produce along with EPs Shay Hatten, Original Film’s Neal Moritz and Pavun Shetty, Erik Feig and Atomic Monster’s James Wan, Rob Hackett and Michael Clear. The opening episodes will be directed by Craig Macneill, who will also exec-produce.
Now, Deadline reports that the show’s starting to recruit the talent in front of the camera too. Madison Iseman (Jumanji: The Next Level) will lead the young ensemble and is thought to be playing a character similar to that played by Jennifer Love Hewitt on the big screen. She will be joined by Brianne Tju (Light as a Feather), Ezekiel Goodman, Ashley Moore (Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping), Sebastian Amoruso (Solve), Fiona Rene (Stumptown), Cassie Beck (Connecting), Brooke Bloom (Homecoming) and Bill Heck (I’m Your Woman).
Production will begin in Hawaii this month.
Amazon orders I Know What You Did Last Summer series

Amazon is bringing I Know What You Last Summer back to our screens, but not as we know it.
A new TV show based on the iconic horror film is in the works at Amazon Studios. Hailing from Sony Pictures Television, the series is a young adult take on the 1997 slasher. Written by Kevin Williamson and starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe, and Freddie Prinze Jr, it joined Scream as one of the definitive 1990s horror flicks.
The film was inspired by the the 1973 novel of the same name by Lois Duncan. Amazon’s series will be written by Preacher’s Sara Goodman and take its cue from the book, which introduces us to a group of teens who are stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on graduation night.
“The best horror franchises always have another scare coming, and this I Know What You Did Last Summer series from Sara Goodman is a perfectly twisted update to the iconic slasher movie,” Albert Cheng, COO and CO-Head of Television, Amazon Studios, said in a statement. “Any way you slice it, our global Prime Video customers will love this modern take on the fan favourite film.”
The project has been in the works for a while, driven by Original Film’s Neal H. Moritz, who produced the original movie. James Wan and his Atomic Monster boarded the series last year, with Wan, Rob Hackett and Michael Clear from the company all exec-producer, alongside Goodman and Shay Hatten, who was previously attached as a writer.
